Bumble & Bumble Hair

You have five minutes to get ready; three to get dressed and two, less if possible, to do your hair. If you have medium to long-hair you know that two minutes for hair is inconceivable. A pony-tail or man bun simply are not options so what do you do? Easy; grab a round brush and some Bumble & Bumble and you’ll very quickly have hair that looks like it took all morning. Happy styling!

Step 1: Run your fingers through your hair to see if you have any knots or to gauge if your hair is dry enough to introduce product. If damp, simply give it a few more minutes to air dry or quickly run a blow-dryer through to dry up in lingering wet patches.

Step 2: Once dry, take a round brush and comb it through from front to back. A comb will do the trick but nightly slightly flatten it’s effect compared to a round brush. Personally I find this to work better.

Step 3: Your hair may be falling forward after every stroke; this happens to me as my hair is very thick and heavy. The brushing is more of a guide to provide direction. Once you feel like you’ve combed it to where you have an idea of where it was lie, reach for a pinch of Bumble & Bumble’s Sumotec and similar to the way you were combing with the brush, comb your hair now with your fingers and the product will immediately keep the hair in place. Some strands may want to fall out of place, just keep combing them back with product on your fingers and eventually they will stick. I swear by B&B because it gives you a very natural product-less look but it holds your hair in structure. I have yet to find a better product.

Step 4: Voila!

And this only took two-minutes…

A February Summer Day

np7

Summer arrived early this year, or at least the first summer-like weekend. After weeks of below freezing temperatures and 20 plus inches of snow, how else do you celebrate the miraculous surprise that is a 70-degree day in February? You go out for a stroll, of course! Restaurant, movies, shopping; all are nice but I can do that again next weekend when the temperature drops back down; this weekend the only item on my agenda is to soak up fresh air and let the sun kiss my skin. Goodbye jackets, at least for today, and hello summer style!

Hair Guide For Men: Medium Brush Over

GQ recently wrote an article asking men to forget this year’s trending undercut hair styles and prepare for next summer with a few extra inches of length. Growing at about half to three-quarter inches a month, it’s very possible for a guy who begins growing out their hair at new year’s to have a good medium length come summer. Once medium hair status is achieved the dilemma of styling options will begin, which is why I decided to share a 60-second tutorial for a medium brush over style. This is a quick and easy way to dress up your hair for any occasion, and it doesn’t even take 10 minutes to prep. Happy styling! Continue reading “Hair Guide For Men: Medium Brush Over”
